Just over a week to go to celebrate We Are Telford Carnival.

We Are Telford Carnival is back and will be celebrating with a full line up of entertainment, music, dance, performers and activities for all to get involved with.

Taking place on Sunday 17 July at Telford Town Park and Southwater from 11am to 6pm, the Carnival Parade starts off around the town centre box road at 12.30pm.

In the Town Park QEII arena people can expect a Carnival Stage with music and dance, fairground and new for 2022 a Multi-Sport Experience Zone where visitors can take part and ‘try a sport’. This includes a 20m Track and Timer running track, agility and fitness zone, Fast Feet Skill Game, photo wall and podium, Blaze Pods Fitness Test as well as games and family zone.  There will be pavement art as well as street performers bringing the area alive with colour and activity and a selection of Carnival street food and drink outlets to complete the carnival atmosphere.

Don’t forget to look out for the parade robot, disco turtle, Nellie the animatronic elephant as well as community organisations and dance groups from across Telford creating a visual feast for the We Are Telford Parade.

Councillor Carolyn Healy (Labour) Cabinet Member for Climate Change, Green Spaces, Natural and Historic Environment and Cultural Services said: “It is fantastic to be hosting Telford Carnival once again this year and inviting residents and visitors alike to soak up the Carnival atmosphere right here in the centre of Telford.

Once the parade enters the park the Carnival Day itself kicks off with a Community Performance stage and arena of stalls. The day is focused on celebrating the communities that make up Telford and Wrekin borough with an opportunity to showcase the talents and variety of performances on offer”
