Council invites residents to free Summer of Cycling
Telford & Wrekin Council is inviting local residents to join them for a summer of cycling, offering a packed schedule of free biking activities for adults and children.
Telford Bike Hub, run by the council and located next to Telford Town Park’s Visitor Centre, has more than 70 free sessions running throughout July and August, including led rides through the Town Park and to Coalport, ‘learn to ride’ sessions for adults and children, and cycle maintenance workshops.
Recognising the cost of living crisis that many residents are facing, the sessions all free of charge, with bikes and helmets provided.
The council has created the Summer of Cycling campaign to support its active travel agenda, encouraging people to consider more sustainable ways of travelling and promoting the wellbeing benefits of cycling and enjoying the borough’s green spaces, including its award-winning Town Park.
All sessions can be booked for free at Telford Bike Hub’s Eventbrite page
Residents who have never learnt to ride or need a refresher can join in too with expert tuition from the Telford Bike Hub team.
All activities run from Telford Bike Hub next to the Visitor Centre in Telford Town Park, and each activity has multiple date/time slots, with something to fit even the busiest schedule.
