Telford & Wrekin welcomes people to visit local borough town high streets for our high street celebration days this May.

High Street Celebrations are taking place this May across the borough towns which include Newport, Oakengates, Dawley, Ironbridge, Madeley and Wellington, together with Southwater.

The celebrations include a range of roving street entertainment, music and free activities will adorn the six main town high streets plus Southwater.

In addition, visitors to Southwater will be able to take a peek at a full size Spitfire aircraft, thanks to the RAF Museum at Cosford.

The fun takes place on Saturday 14 May in Madeley, Newport, Oakengates and Southwater.

On Saturday 21 May it’s the turn of Dawley, Ironbridge and Wellington.

Cabinet Member for Climate Change, Green Spaces, Natural and Historic Environment and Cultural Services (Lab), Carolyn Healy said: “Following hot on the heels of our successful Spring into St George’s Day event, we are really excited to bring a series of events to our local high streets. This is a great way to find out what your local high street has to offer, enjoy the atmosphere of your local community, and most of all have fun!”
