Donnington Wood Junior school win 1st prize
Earlier this week the Let’s Dine Team (school meals service) invited the winners of their recent competition to Addenbrooke House to receive their prizes from the Mayor of the borough of Telford and Wrekin, Councillor Amrik Jhawar.
The competition was open to all schools that Let's Dine cater for, designed to get engagement from schools and pupils when they had a hot meal at lunch time while the competition was running over 4 weeks. Pupils needed to have at least 15 hot meals during that time, they sampled the variety available from the menus in schools.
There were 10 individual prizes to win. Congratulations to all the winners especially Donnington Wood Junior School. One of their pupils won the top individual prize of an Apple iPad and also a Climbing Wall session for his class from Shortwood Outreach Climbing Wall. The Let’s Dine Team have also supplied each winning primary school winner an Eat Well Session to take place soon.
Let’s Dine works in partnership with schools to provide healthy and nutritionally balanced meals and an enjoyable lunchtime experience that is open to all. The competition incentive which took place in January was designed to encourage more pupils from all year groups to have a hot meal as part of their day. Nutrients from food fuel the brain as well as the body and children are more likely to remain focused during class and get the very best out of their learning.
