Telford & Wrekin Council are looking for individual JEMs to help make events this year sparkle!

In this special Platinum Jubilee year for Her Majesty The Queen, Telford & Wrekin Council will be putting on an events programme to mark Her Majesty’s 70 years of service to the nation.  A calendar of special events will take place to celebrate and Telford & Wrekin Council are asking for enthusiastic volunteers to come forward to help, as many as possible are required to make the Jubilee year extra-special!

These volunteers will become Jubilee Event Maker’s, also known as JEMs, a strong team of volunteers helping to make a spectacular 2022 programme happen. Volunteers will join with like-minded people helping out at events, having fun and feeling proud about their borough and communities.

Councillor Carolyn Healy (Lab), Cabinet Member for Climate Change, Green Spaces, Natural and Historical Environment and Cultural Services said: “2022 is a Platinum Jubilee year and we want to make it extra special for the local community with the amazing events programme that Telford & Wrekin Council’s Cultural and Events Team are in the process of planning, but they can’t make it happen without your help. Volunteer to become a Jubilee Event Maker, it’s an amazing opportunity for you to get involved and be part of the celebrations in Telford and make them a huge success”.
