Public consultation on proposed new development in Ketley Bank
Nuplace Ltd, Telford & Wrekin Council’s wholly owned housing company, are currently looking at proposals for a new housing scheme off Main Road, Ketley Bank, Telford.
The new development will see a mixture of 27 1, 2 and 3 bedroom homes brought forward for private and affordable rent.
Development plans include a refurbishment of the existing historic Victorian building plus new build homes to the rear of the site, 5 of which will be bungalows overlooking the playing fields and public open space.
A pre-planning consultation event is planned for Thursday 17 March 2022 between 3pm and 7pm at Ketley Bank Playing Fields Car Park where residents are invited to view and comment on the development proposals prior to the planning application being submitted in spring 2022.
Visitors can also ask questions and find out more about the sustainable offer for this development which includes installing solar panels and electric car charging points on the new proposed homes in Ketley Bank.
Councillor Richard Overton (Lab) Cabinet Member for Housing, Enforcement & Transport said: “The council fully recognise that the existing Victorian building in Ketley Bank is an iconic asset for the local community and it is has been our priority to ensure that the proposed scheme protects and enhances the integrity of the existing building. This includes ensuring the key route to the playing fields to the right hand side of the building is maintained.
“This looks to be an excellent development brought forward by Nuplace providing more high quality, energy efficient new homes for local people and I would encourage the community to come and see what we have planned.”
For those who would prefer there is also the opportunity to submit comments on the new development online at www.nuplace.co.uk/ketleybank
The deadline for all comments, including those online, will be 31 March 2022. There will be a further formal statutory consultation process once the planning application has been submitted.
