Telford & Wrekin Council calling for more information and access to funding to support businesses in battle against Omicron
Telford and Wrekin Council is ready to support businesses affected by coronavirus in light of the current increase in cases of the Omicron variant, as soon as more information and the funding is available.
It is hoped that businesses in the borough will soon be able to access this new support funding, after the government announced new measures earlier this week including:
- Businesses in the hospitality and leisure sectors to be eligible for one-off grants of up to £6,000 per premises.
- Government to cover the cost of Statutory Sick Pay for covid-related absences for small and medium sized employers in the UK.
- £30m additional funding through the Culture Recovery Fund, enabling more cultural organisations in England to apply for support during the winter.
- To support other businesses impacted by the omicron variant, such as those who supply the hospitality and leisure sectors, £100 million nationally in Additional Restrictions Grant (ARG)
