Find ideas to keep children healthy and active this Easter

Families looking for lockdown friendly ideas to keep their children healthy and active during the Easter holidays can find them on a new website developed by Telford and Wrekin Council.

The website is free for all to use and includes recipe ideas, games to keep children active, information on healthy eating, plus craft and story time ideas.

A physical activity pack will be delivered directly to families eligible for benefits-related free school meals who don't have internet access.

All the information and activities are suitable for families to use under current Coronavirus restrictions.

The new website has been developed as part of the council's new Happy Healthy & Active Holidays programme.

As coronavirus restrictions are eased, the programme will be expanded to deliver more places at holiday clubs during the school holidays in 2021.

Councillor Eileen Callear, Cabinet Member for Leisure, Culture and Visitor Economy, said:

"With current coronavirus restrictions in place, parents might feel limited by what they can do to keep their children entertained, healthy and active.

"To help, we pulled together several ideas on a website to help all families stay healthy and active during the Easter holidays.

"I would to encourage all parents can visit the website at www.telford.gov.uk/hhah and have a look.

"Also, parents can join in and learn more on social media with the hashtag #HappyHealthyActive."
