Telford & Wrekin Leisure take back operations at Telford Tennis Centre
Telford & Wrekin Leisure are delighted to confirm that they are taking over the management and operations at Telford Tennis Centre from 1 April 2021.
Due to Covid restrictions, the Tennis Centre will not be able to fully re-open immediately, and so initially it will be used as an elections count venue.
Telford Tennis Centre, which offers tennis activities and coaching for all ages, is owned by Telford & Wrekin Council but has been managed by GLL since 2016.
Councillor Eileen Callear, Cabinet Member for Leisure, Libraries, and Culture said: “We would like to thank the team at GLL for all of their work over the last 5 years in managing the Telford Tennis Centre and for making Tennis accessible for the local community.”
“Telford Tennis Centre provides an excellent opportunity for people of all ages and abilities who are looking to learn and improve their skills. We are excited to get these facilities back open for everyone to enjoy throughout the summer months and we are particular looking forward to growing and developing the coaching activities which are available.”
Telford Tennis Centre is expected to re-open from 1 June 2021.
