Telford Town Park named as one of UK’s best parks in UK
Telford Town Park has been named as one of the top ten favourite parks to visit by the Green Flag Award through the 2020 People’s Choice vote.
In 2020, more people than ever havecome to see the benefits of visiting Telford’s green and open spaces, becominga lifeline to many. Telford Town Park is no exception and has remained open tovisitors throughout the pandemic providing a safe place to meet friends andfamily and to escape to for some much-needed peace and quiet
More than 59,000 votes cast as thenation picked the best of British parks, announcing the top ten winners. Withmore than 2,061 sites to choose from, all of which met the high standardsdemanded by the Green Flag Award– the public chose their top ten.

We have more parks with a Green Flag Award than ever before, moreLocal Nature Reserves than ever before and hundreds of sites protected throughour Green Guarantee Scheme. The jewel in the crown is of course Telford TownPark and it is no surprise that the park has again been voted one of the bestparks in the country. This success is owed to the hard working staff anddedicated volunteers, who earlier this year were awarded the Queen’s Award forVoluntary Service”.
