Council to host live Facebook Q&A on climate change
Telford & Wrekin Council will host a live Facebook Q&A, answering residents’ questions on climate change.
The first Saturday of July (4 July 2020) is traditionally the International Day of Co-operatives. The theme for this year’s Day is: Cooperatives for Climate Action.
Nearly a year ago, Telford & Wrekin Council declared a climate emergency, acknowledging the seriousness of the issues around climate change both locally, nationally and globally and committing to tackle them locally.
To celebrate #Coops4ClimateAction and to reflect on the past year, Cllr Carolyn Healy, the council’s cabinet member for Climate Change, will answer your questions, live on Facebook on Thursday 2 July.
Please post your questions to the post on the Council’s Facebook page in advance.
Cllr Carolyn Healy, cabinet member for Climate Change, said:
“Climate change affects everyone and we must continue to take action to change this.
“This year’s theme for International Day of Co-operatives intends to highlight the importance of taking action against climate change and to encourage others to also make a difference – no matter how small.
“I am excited to hear what people want to know about what we’re already doing and plan to do to tackle climate change at the Q&A event next week.”
