Telford & Wrekin Council is urging everyone in the borough to ensure they practise social distancing to try and help stem the coronavirus outbreak.

The council has also appealed to residents to report any businesses that they see who are not adhering to new laws about closing down unless they are providing an essential service.

They can do this by either calling the council’s Public Protection team by emailing coronavirus@telford.gov.uk  These reports can be done anonymously.

Angie Astley, the council’s Executive Director for Housing, Communities and Customer Services, said: “I cannot stress strongly enough how important it is that people practice social distancing and follows the Government’s advice.

“We can all play our part to tackle this and it is vital that everybody does their bit.”
