The Place Telford - September Highlights

MUSIC

9 September

Nothing gets a party rocking like the anthemic songs of Queen, and hammering out the tunes at the ‘Ben’s Charity Concert 3’ will be Flash: A Tribute to Queen, possibly the best act to ever encapsulate the pomp and brilliance of Freddie and the boys at their height.

It’s a full-on, standing room only, dance the night away party, with turns from another top tribute act, Take @ That sets from local heroes The Beautiful Ways and Rhi & Ed and an after show DJ set from Luca Basini,

Five top acts and a party for just £20, now that’s value.

21 September & 27 September respectively

Go Now! The Music of The Moody Blues will take you back in time to the very zenith of rock music, back to the days when Britain stood astride the world in popular culture.

The greatest songs of the legendary Moody Blues are delivered by a stellar musical line-up including Gordy Marshall, member of the original Moody Blues for a over a quarter of a century and Mick Wilson of 10cc. Tickets £24.50

And, in a prelude to Francis Rossi visiting The Place Telford next March, hard-rocking The Quo Experience enter the theatre with a bang.  Every hit, every nuanced head-banging move and every driving, boogie-rock rhythm of Status Quo is played out in a perfect homage. With more than 60 chart singles to choose from, The Quo Experience is set to be a monster of a show. Tickets are just £20

COMEDY

20 September & 23 September respectively

If comedy is your thing, The Place Telford has some of the very best this coming September.

With a Scottish Comedy Award under his belt and a rapidly developing online cult following, the super-talented Gary Meikle; The iBrow Guy pitches up to talk about life, the universe and how the state of his daughter’s eyebrows have changed his perception of both.  An overarching, immaculately plucked and defined show, Gary can truly be said to be at the forefront, and forehead, of comedy.

Just 3 days later, the much lauded and much loved Rob Beckett arrives in Telford with his ‘Work in Progress’ tour. A regular on a plethora of TV shows including: ‘8 out of 10 Cats’, ‘LIVE at The Apollo’, ‘Would I Lie To You?’ and ‘Mock The Week’, cheeky chappy Rob will be a sure fire winner at The Place Telford.

FAMILY

28 & 29 September

Celebrating 10 Stick-tacular years the touching, funny and utterly original Freckle Productions’ delightful adaptation of Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler’s ‘Stick Man’ is back!
What starts off as a morning jog becomes quite the misadventure for Stick Man: a dog wants to play fetch with him, a swan builds a nest with him, and he even ends up on a fire! How will Stick Man ever get back to the family tree?
This award-winning production, from the team behind ‘Tiddler and other Terrific Tale’s, ‘Tabby McTat’ and ‘Zog’ features a trio of top actors and is packed full of puppetry, songs, live music and funky moves.
