Plastics recycled from borough homes reprocessed in UK
The Council has received a number of questions from the public about what happens to plastics that are collected from homes in the borough for recycling by our contractors Veolia.
Veolia are pleased to confirm that the materials collectedat kerbside from Telford and Wrekin residents are reprocessed in the UK.
The contents of residents' purple top wheelie bin go to our regional Material Recovery Facility at Four Ashes, near Wolverhampton, for primary sorting and from there go to a variety of facilities within the UK.
The contents of the blue bag are taken to a paper mill in Cheshire to be recycled into new materials
