Telford Balloon Fiesta returns
Get ready to be blown away when the Telford Balloon Fiesta returns for another year this May in Telford Town Park. Last year’s event, which was part of the Telford50 celebrations, attracted around 30,000 where visitors experienced the visual spectacle of hot air balloons filling the skies over Telford.
The event takes place on 11 and 12 May where, weather permitting, there will be several opportunities to see balloons take off over the weekend.
Lindstrand Technologies, partners in the event, will be supporting the host of hot air balloons that will be floating above the borough at intervals, as well as being tethered in the QEII Fields In Trust Town Park Arena for everyone to see.
Virgin Balloon Flights are excited to be involved again and will be offering pre-booked balloon flights in two of their largest balloons.
On Saturday & Sunday those who wish to start the day early will be able to enjoy the launch of the hot air balloons early morning (weather dependent). For those who want to start the day a little later there will be entertainment and activities in the park from around 12pm.
On the evening of Saturday 11 May, spectators will be treated to a ‘night glow’, the big hit of last year’s event, where around ten balloons will become beautiful floating lanterns and bounce along to music - weather permitting.
Planning is still under way for this event so keep your eyes peeled for more announcements as well as timings for the day.
This event is FREE entry and is not ticketed. Visitors are free to come and go as they please and have plenty of time to enjoy other attractions in Telford Town Park including Sky Reach, Disc Golf, Adventure Golf, Waterplay, beautiful walks and endless play areas for the young at heart. Food will be available onsite all weekend but picnics are also welcome.

The event takes place from 12 noon-10pm (with the nightglow) on Saturday 11 and 11am-7pm on Sunday 12 May. Ballooning and some activities are weather dependent.
