Telford makes Top 20 high value manufacturing list
Telford is one of only three places in the West Midlands to make the Top 20 list of high value manufacturing hotspots – as announced by Advanced Engineering.
Advanced Engineering 2018 is one of the UK’s largest annual gatherings of advanced engineering professionals and takes place at the NEC on 31 October and 1 November.
Telford is one of seven new entrants into the top 20 being placed at number 17. The other places in the West Midlands to make it are Birmingham and Coventry, two of the region’s major cities.
Councillor Lee Carter, Telford & Wrekin Council’s cabinet member for Economic Development, said: “I am delighted that Telford has made the Top 20 list of high value manufacturing hotspots published by Advanced Engineering.
“This reflects our commitment to being a business supporting and business winning council which has resulted in significant inward investment across the borough and has also helped a number of already established businesses to expand or move to new premises.”
Alison Willis, industrial divisional director at Easyfairs, organiser of the show, said: “High value manufacturing provides highly paid, highly skilled jobs across the country and our league table shows where the advanced engineering hotspots are.”
