Child Sexual Exploitation Advisory Group holds first meeting

The first meeting of Telford & Wrekin Council’s member advisory group on the Council-commissioned independent inquiry into child sexual exploitation has taken place.

Child Sexual Exploitation Advisory Group holds first meeting

The meeting elected Cllr Peter Scott as its chairman and it unanimously agreed to take steps to involve three representatives of survivors of child sexual abuse in future meetings as co-opted “lay” members of the Advisory Group.

The Advisory Group had been due to meet again in public on 30 May. This meeting will now be rescheduled as early as possible in June to allow time for further discussion with and participation of survivors or their representatives in the Advisory Group process.

As soon as the new meeting date is known details of this will be published on the Council’s website.
