Warning of illegal tattooists and piercers in Telford

Their work has led to customers having to turn to legitimate and legal businesses to get it rectified.

Our Health and Safety team only license piercers and tattooists who work from a fixed address. We have local by-laws to ensure the cleanliness of the person and the property that is registered. We don’t license mobile operators and risks of infections are significantly increased if they visit customers at the customer’s home.

If you're unsure if an operator offering piercing or tattoos is registered with us, you can ask to see their registration certificate which should be on display in their premises at all times, or contact the Council on 01952 381818 or environmental.health@telford.gov.uk to see if they are on our register.

Please also contact us if you have any information about mobile operators offering piercings or tattoos.
