Aspirations welcome redeveloped health and fitness facilities
Telford & Wrekin Council have made their mark on the New Year already as Aspirations welcome the final instalment of their redeveloped health and fitness facilities.
Wellington Civic & Leisure Centre officially opened the finished health and fitness facilities this week; featuring an expanded fitness suite, new class studio, cycling studio and health suite.
The recent health suite refurbishment completes all three phases of the developments at the Centre. The health suite includes a replacement of a new, larger spa pool, sauna and steam room.
The new installations were also accompanied by modernised wall tiles, new flooring, ceilings, lighting and furniture.
To celebrate the occasion and mark one of the first Telford 50 achievements, Aspirations hosted a Superfitness Weekend at Wellington Civic & Leisure Centre and Abraham Darby Sports & Leisure Centre.
Members and non-members were invited to try out the refurbished facilities and experience the new class studios with Les Mills instructors, featuring RPM, Body Pump and Combat classes.
Councillor John Minor, Cabinet Member for Leisure, Green Spaces and Parks, said: “The team at Wellington Civic & Leisure Centre are excited to officially open the new and improved facilities. Particularly during this exciting year that Telford turns 50.”
“The feedback from members so far has been great, we would like to thank them for their patience during this time of improvement.”
“We look forward to continuing to provide an efficient and valued service to Aspirations members.”
Aspirations are currently offering the first month of membership for free in January; granting each member entry into any of the 140+ fitness classes running every week, the use of 7 fitness suites, 4 pools and 2 health suites.
