The Centre will be enhancing its fitness class offer with the installation of Les Mills virtual RPM and new audio systems for the cycling and fitness classes.

The modified fitness suite and studio will be redecorated to incorporate a fresh Aspirations experience for members.

The swimming pool and other facilities at the Centre will be unaffected during the refurbishment period and will remain open.

To ensure the improvements are completed in a timely manner and to a high standard, some facilities will be unavailable during the following days:

Gym/ Fitness Suite (including cycling classes) – Monday 11 December to Wednesday 20 December

Fitness Class Studio – Wednesday 13 December to Wednesday 20 December.

Abraham Darby Sports & Leisure Centre will reopen on Thursday 21 December. As part of the Aspirations health and fitness offering, members are able to access all six leisure sites across Telford & Wrekin. During this time of refurbishment members are invited to use other fitness suites and classes at their convenience.

Councillor John Minor, Cabinet Member for Leisure, Green Spaces and Parks, said: “The Aspirations membership package is constantly improving across all sites within Telford & Wrekin.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused during the refurbishment period and would like to thank all members for their patience; ensuring an enhanced health and fitness offering at Abraham Darby Sports & Leisure Centre upon reopening on Thursday 21 December. Other Aspirations facilities at alternative centres will remain open as normal.”
