Holyhead Road update
Work to resurface Holyhead Road between Junction 7 of the M54 and Haygate Road will now be completed on Friday 8 September.
The original plan was to complete the work on Wednesday 6 September.
However, during the excavations, the contractor has found a problem with the drainage system on the corner of Holyhead Road opposite the Roman Road junction.
This will need to be fixed before the resurfacing can be completed, unavoidably delaying the completion of the project by two days.
A full 24-hour road closure will remain in place whilst the work is being done.
Diversion routes remain the same, but we have increased signage along the local diversion route (Ercall Lane) and other routes to control traffic speeds.
The road should be re-opened to traffic sometime on Friday 8 September, but we will keep you updated on progress.
