Mayor's charity event raises £450
A fundraiser held at the Haygate pub in Wellington raised an impressive £450 for this year’s mayor charity.
The money will go to Severn Hospice, where borough mayor Councillor Stephen Reynolds works as a volunteer. A number of bands performed at the pub last weekend to raise cash for the charity.
Councillor Reynolds said: “I would like to say a special thanks to everyone at the Haygate and all the bands that performed and a very big thank you to everyone who donated to my charity.
“The next fundraiser is the Severn Stride walk on 9 September, which is a sponsored walk or run along the 18 mile cross country route between the hospices in Bicton, Shrewsbury and Apley, Telford.
