Consultation on Local Plan Main Modifications
Telford & Wrekin Council have published the Government appointed Planning Inspectors schedule of Proposed Main Modifications to the Local Plan today (31 July).
The Inspectors proposals will be out for consultation, over an 8 week period, until the 22 September 2017. Following this, the Inspector will consider responses in completing his final report.
A new local plan will support the Council’s business winning agenda by directing development to locations that are well served with infrastructure and help support the growth of the local economy.
Councillor Richard Overton, deputy leader and cabinet member for housing and enforcement, said: “The Local Plan is now into the final stages before it is adopted.
“Adoption of a new up to date local plan will help resist speculative development proposals in the future and will allow us greater control over the planning process in the borough.”
This is not a consultation on the whole plan and the Inspector will only be considering comments on the schedule of Proposed Main Modification.
All comments should be submitted by 5pm on 22 September 2017, further details can be found on the Council’s website.
