Pub hosts hospice fundraiser for Mayor’s charity
A Wellington pub is hosting an afternoon of live music to raise funds for the charity chosen by the Mayor of the Borough of Telford and Wrekin.
Councillor Stephen Reynolds chose Severn Hospice – where he works as a volunteer – as the charity that he wants to raise funds for during his year in office, which began in May.
The Haygate pub in Wellington is staging The Sixth Annual Distorted Tapes All Dayer on Saturday 5th August to raise cash for the mayor’s charity. It starts in the afternoon and runs until about 11pm.
Acts that are playing are mostly local bands including Wax Futures, A Pig Called Eggs and LF Fauxchisels.
Councillor Reynolds said: “I am delighted that the Haygate and some great local bands have joined forces to support my charity and I hope we manage to raise as much money as possible as well as hearing some great music.
“I would encourage the community in Wellington to come out and support the event.”
