Community pride campaign rebrand launch

Telford & Wrekin Council is launching a rebrand of its Pride in Your Community programme which is seeing major improvements and repairs to the borough’s roads, footpaths, streetlights and green spaces.

Community pride campaign rebrand launch

Around £45m has been set aside to fund the latest round of Pride improvements happening over the next three years.  This will include investment in roads, footpaths, streetlights, parks and green spaces, as well as funding for community projects and initiatives to boost local high streets.

As part of the rebranding, Pride in Your Community has become ‘Pride in Our Community’ in a bid to better reflect the work of the project and encourage even more involvement from local communities.

A dedicated webpage has been set up on the Council’s website giving details of all the projects planned, how people can get involved in Pride and also share concerns about their neighbourhoods.

A Pride in Our Community Facebook Group has also been set up for the teams working on Pride to give updates on how projects are progressing and share other community information.

Cllr Shaun Davies, leader of Telford & Wrekin Council, said:  “By working with local communities and listening to their views and concerns, we are much better placed to make informed decisions about where money needs to be invested.  A well maintained and clean borough benefits us all.

“Like all local authorities, we have limited funds so must focus our efforts carefully and creatively to make sure that the work we do has the greatest impact and keeps up with the pace of change.

“A lot of great work has been achieved through Pride since it was set up in 2014 and a lot more is planned.  And next year Telford is 50 – an occasion to celebrate and an opportunity for us all to take pride in our borough.”
