Wellington Civic and Leisure Centre set for refurbishment works

The renovations will see a new fitness studio, cycling studio and bigger fitness suite at Wellington. Construction onsite commences on Tuesday 2 May.

Customers can expect a new and improved fitness suite as well as a purpose-built fitness studio. The development will also see the opening of a brand new cycling studio which will have state of the art equipment including a new virtual screen enabling greater interaction and enhancing the customer experience.

Following the works on the fitness suite, there will also be the refurbishment of the health suite including sauna, steam room and spa area.

The aspirations fitness suite and swimming pool will remain staffed and open throughout the works. However a satellite class program will be in operation as the fitness studio will be closed.

All fitness classes have been accommodated nearby to cause minimum disruption

The gym will re-open fully during August 2017 with an extended cardiovascular offer and much improved strength offer.

Fliss Mercer, Telford & Wrekin Council’s Assistant Director for Commercial Services, said: “I am very excited about the refurbishment and further development of Wellington Civic and Leisure Centre and am very much looking forward to seeing our members making use of the new and improved facilities.

“The already brilliant aspirations health and fitness offer continues to improve and it is anticipated that work will be completed this summer.

“Disruption will be kept to a minimum wherever possible. I am really looking forward to the refurbished facilities opening and I am sure that all users will appreciate the investment.”
