Telford Ice Rink will close on Monday 24 April for 2 weeks for Ice Pad refurbishment works to take place.
The last day of public skating will be Sunday 23 April and the rink is due to reopen to the public on Monday 8 May.
The soft play area will remain open throughout the works.
The ice pad requires regular upkeep to combat deterioration which can occur over time since its installation in 2013 and requires repainting to ensure it complies with the rules and regulations for ice hockey games.
The planned works will improve both the aesthetics and operation of the ice pad for customers and clubs using the facility.
Councillor Richard Overton, Cabinet member for Housing, Leisure and Health said:
“We apologise to the customers and clubs who won’t be able to access Telford Ice Rink while we carry out routine maintenance on the ice pad. The works will provide a better skating experience for our skaters and the clubs using the rink on a regular basis.
I am pleased we have been able to carry out these works to maintain the ice pad so that Telford Ice Rink remains a facility to be proud of.”
