More new homes to become available at next Nuplace site

Nuplace is delighted to announce it is to build more new homes in Telford and Wrekin – with Miners’ Walk at Madeley Court being the next site to become available.

Madeley Court is the fourth site being delivered byNuplace following hot on the heels of.The Oaklands in Matlock Avenue, Dawley, whichwas launched at the end of last year.

There are two further sites comingforward at Hadley and Newport although the Newport one is still subject to planning.

Miners’ Walk will have 53 two and three bedroomhomes for private rent with properties ready for occupation in winter 2017.Work has already started on site.

As part of Nuplace’s community engagement ahead ofthe work, children from John Fletcher of Madeley Primary School had fun taking part in an artworkcompetition which saw them designing their dream home.

Millie Johnson, aged 11,was chosen as the winner andwas awarded a family pass to Telford Ice Rink. Her artwork will be printed onthe hoarding on the outside of the new development. William Hackett, also aged11, was chosen as the runner up.

Millie said: “I am delighted to win the competitionand looking forward to visiting the Ice Rink with my mum. I am also very proudthat my artwork will be put on the hoarding at the new Miners’ Walkdevelopment.”

Matthew Gould, head teacher at John Fletcher ofMadeley Primary, said: “The children have really loved this project. It has given them a chance to use theirimagination and creativity as well as learning about the new development in thelocal community.”

Councillor Richard Overton, Telford & WrekinCouncil’s cabinet member for Housing, said: “This will be a great newdevelopment for Madeley, providing properties for the private rental marketthrough Nuplace.”

Properties will be ready for owners and tenants tomove into in winter 2017.

Two Nuplace sites have already seen tenants move inat Pool View in Randlay and Woodland Walk in Madeley.
