Friends, family, food and fun at ‘T-Picnic’

Where else would you rather be than at Telford’s 'T-Picnic' on the last weekend of the summer school holiday?

Friends, family, food and fun at ‘T-Picnic’
Taking place from 11am to 9pm at the QEII Fields In Trust Telford Town Park Arena this Saturday (3 September), ‘T-Picnic’ promises a cultural showcase of music, dance and food from around the world.

The UK’s best park will come alive with music and entertainment including:
London Vegetable Orchestra, Spark! street theatre, The Exotic Zoo, Bhangra, folk dance and Lindy Hop workshops, crafts and  story telling.
Tickle your taste buds with some of the world’s tastiest food, including dishes from Ghana, the Philippines, India, Turkey, Poland, the Caribbean and Mexico as well as delicious cakes and homemade bakes

And, as dusk falls, the climax of the day; a spectacular light and pyrotechnic show finale not to be missed.

'Spark!' will be lighting up the stage for the finale at 8pm. A mesmerising performance that combines high impact drumming with kaleidoscopic lighting. And to finish, this will be accompanied by a crescendo of spectacular lights and colours illuminating the arena.  The finale will undoubtedly be a spectacle to behold, although there is no aerial fireworks display - but it will most definitely be unlike anything Telford has ever seen before!

It’s all for just £1! (free for under 2s). Just pay on entry.

Councillor Liz Clare, Telford & Wrekin Council’s cabinet member for Culture, Sports, Parks & Green Spaces said: “T-Picnic is all about friends, family, food and fun. Bring your own picnic, or bring an empty picnic basket and fill it with the range of exciting and delicious food that will be on offer. What better way to round off the summer holiday?”

T-Picnic is one of three events in Telford this summer branded as ‘Festival Telford’ and supported by a grant from Art’s Council England. It is also sponsored by Telford Shopping Centre.
