Appeal for contractors for next phase of housing investment programme
Telford & Wrekin Council is always looking for ways in which to support local trade and keep the business pound in the borough – and the next phase of its housing investment programme is no exception.
The council set up a wholly owned company called Nuplace to build 400 new homes for the private rental market.
Construction firm Lovell is the contractor working with Nuplace to deliver the second phase of the programme, which includes developments at The Oaklands at Matlock Avenue in Dawley and Miners’ Walk at Madeley Court.
Two further sites in Hadley and Newport are proposed subject to planning.
The Oaklands will feature 92 two and three bedroom homes. This will see 47 new homes for private rent by Nuplace and 45 of the homes being sold on the open market by Lovell.
Miners’ Walk at Madeley Court will have 53 units and is a mix of two and three bedroom homes and properties will be ready for occupation in spring 2017. Work starts on construction of the homes in the coming weeks.
Lovell is currently looking to appoint local building contractors and construction specialists to help them deliver the project.
Businesses interested in becoming a supplier or contractor to Lovell can download a supplier registration document to be sent directly to Lovells.
