Successful year of A-Level results

Students across Telford and Wrekin have been rejoicing after a successful year of ‘A’ Level and Post 16 vocational results.

Successful year of A-Level results
Early indicators suggest that a higher proportion of students have passed their ‘A’ Levels and other equivalent qualifications than in previous years demonstrating that the hard work undertaken by staff and students has been rewarded.

At Newport Girls High School, many students achieved passes at the top grades allowing them to secure places at their chosen universities. This includes four pupils whose results mean they are Oxbridge bound.

Adams Grammar School is reporting the highest ever percentage of A* - B grades which makes this year’s results the best in the school’s history – and also includes four pupils who are going to Oxbridge.

Similar success stories are being reported across the borough, with New College Telford,  Madeley Academy and Abraham Darby all demonstrating an increased proportion of the students have achieving at least two passes at ‘A’ Level.

Councillor Gilly Reynolds, cabinet member for Education, Employment and Regeneration, said: “I welcome this year’s A Level results and would like to congratulate all the students and staff for their achievements.”
