New Hub for Integrated Sexual Health Services Opens in Telford
A new Telford hub for Sexual Health Services was formally opened by Councillor Richard Overton last week.

The refurbished accommodation at Bishton Court has been carefully designed to offer a full range of facilities for patients and staff. The two floors of accommodation include an open and inviting reception area, five clinic rooms, a counselling room, primary analysis laboratory, an office and toilets.
The new hub is conveniently located in Telford Town Centre within walking distance of Telford Central rail station and close to local bus routes.
The completion of the refurbishment at Bishton Court follows the successful transfer of Sexual Health Services for Telford and Wrekin to South Staffordshire & Shropshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust (SSSFT) in April.
Chief Executive of SSSFT, Neil Carr said “We are very proud to be working in partnership with Telford & Wrekin Council to deliver services from this well designed, modern and fit for purpose facility. This accommodation provides all the facilities required by the service to deliver high quality care.
Staff can work more efficiently and effectively with easy flow through the building and protected staff space. The lighting, décor and furnishings are of a high standard and provide a comfortable and welcoming environment for, patients, visitors and staff.
SSSFT are committed to delivering quality healthcare to those who use our services and, in working in partnership with Telford & Wrekin Council, we look forward to continually improving services to meet the needs of patients”.
Councillor Richard Overton, Telford & Wrekin Council’s cabinet member for Health, said: “This is a much more suitable and fit for purpose location for this essential service and we are very pleased to have worked in partnership with the South Staffordshire and Shropshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust to deliver it.
“I am very impressed with the new facilities at Bishton Court and was delighted to formally open them.”
