Festival Telford: T-Picnic to set Telford alight
Telford & Wrekin Council is delighted to announce the launch of T-Picnic – a unique cultural extravaganza of music, dance and food from around the world.

T-Picnic Day takes place on Saturday September 3 from 11am-9pm in the QEII Fields In Trust Telford Town Park Arena – one of a range of captivating events taking place in the borough this summer.
T-Picnic is one of three events in Telford this summer branded as Festival Telford and supported by a grant from Arts Council England. It is also sponsored by Telford Shopping Centre.
Visitors are encouraged to bring their own picnics to T-Picnic or try something new from the world food stalls.
Live music and entertainment will be provided by international acts including Spark and the London Vegetable Orchestra as well as local artists.
T-Picnic also boasts diverse fun for all the family like puppet workshops and shows, making your own carrot recorder, Bhangra dancing and workshops and folk dancing.
Visitors can also sample foods from around the world, as well as taking part in kite making workshops for the following day’s Kite Festival.
The event will conclude with a light and pyrotechnic show finale during the evening which should not be missed.
Councillor Liz Clare, Telford & Wrekin Council’s cabinet member for Culture, Sports, Parks and Green Spaces, said: “We’ve got a strong record of successful events in the Town Park and T-Picnic promises to be an excellent addition to that.
“It should be a fantastic day out for all the family with a wide variety of entertainment and I would encourage people of all ages to come and enjoy this great event.”
