Active Lifestyle Awards open for nominations
This year’s Telford and Wrekin Active Lifestyle Awards has a much wider focus than in previous years.
Telford & Wrekin Council, together with awards sponsor Ricoh UK Products Ltd is seeking nominations from individuals, groups, clubs, communities, organisations, companies, projects and partnerships.
The awards seek to recognise how individuals and organisations have made changes and helped others to lead and live an active healthy lifestyle.
There are a number of categories that people can nominate in to help raise awareness and recognise individuals, schools, local business, community/voluntary groups.
Awards include:
• Primary and Secondary Care Individual or Setting of the Year:
• Under 5s Provision of the Year
• School or College of the Year
• Health Champion of the Year
• Young Volunteer of the Year
• Volunteer of the Year
• Community Project of the Year
• Active Workplace of the Year
• Active Lifestyle Award
• Community Event of the Year
• Award for Outstanding Contribution of the Year
Councillor Liz Clare, Telford & Wrekin Council’s cabinet member for Leisure Services and Culture, said: “The Active Lifestyle Awards are very much an institution in Telford and Wrekin and a great opportunity for people who have contributed to the health and wellbeing of their community to be recognised.
“I would encourage people to get nominating whether they nominate themselves or someone they know or an organization they are involved with.
“Nominations are a brilliant way of recognising a forgotten army of individuals who make a real difference to a wide range of people living in the Borough.”
