Irish Country music star on tour
Irish Country music star Derek Ryan is touring this year and Oakengates Theatre @ The Place is one of the lucky venues to host this fantastic musician in April.
Ryan’s rise to become one of the biggest stars of Irish Country music has been phenomenal. In just over five years few artists have made such an impact on the Irish Country scene like this Co. Carlow singer songwriter.
He has brought a fresh distinctive sound with many of his own songs including ‘God’s Plan’ and ‘Life is a River’.
This is not Derek’s first taste of success. Back in 2001 he joined D-side, achieving a number one single in Japan as well as numerous top ten hits in Ireland, the UK, France, Germany and China.
After his time with D-side, Ryan returned home to contemplate the future, where he began writing, soon becoming a much loved and respected singer songwriter. He now performs to sell-out crowds, having even travelled to entertain his international fan base in Austrailia.
But local fans need not travel all the way to Austrailia to see Derek as he will be taking to the stage at Oakengates Theatre @ The Place on Wednesday 27 April at 7.30pm.
