This Girl can…go back to netball!
This Girl Can…go back to netball, thanks to the latest Workplace Challenge event happening at Phoenix Sports and Leisure Centre in Dawley on Wednesday 16 March.
Haven’t played since school? That’s no problem, as this fun, gentle re-introduction to the sport will have everyone back on the court in no time.
Led by England Netball qualified coaches and umpires, the taster session will start with a refresher of the basic skills and a run through of the rules, followed by a friendly, relaxed game everyone can take part in.
Entry is £3.50 per person, which covers coaching, game play, refreshments and prizes.
All participants must work for an organisation in Telford and Wrekin, or Shropshire and be over 16 years of age.
Teams of seven ladies can sign up, though individuals and smaller groups are just as welcome to register and will be teamed up with other ladies on the evening.
No special kit is required to take part, just wear comfortable clothes for exercising and trainers that lace up.
Councillor Liz Clare, cabinet member for Leisure Services and Culture, said: “Team sports are an excellent way to keep fit in a fun and social environment and yet many people will not have played netball since school, despite many probably enjoying it.
“This taster session is a fantastic way for ladies to re-establish an affinity with a much loved sport and perhaps start a new netball journey in the future.”
Arrival is from 7pm for a 7.15pm start. Play will finish by 9pm.
