Flood barriers up in Ironbridge
Flood barriers have gone up in Ironbridge today as the River Severn continues to rise.
The river is expected to peak later this evening (2 DEC) at a level of 5.3m.
The Council and the Environment Agency will continue to montior the situation.
The Wharfage in Ironbridge is closed to traffic.
All shops, restaurants, museums and public houses on the Wharfage and elsewhere in the Gorge will remain open for business as normal once the flood barriers have been deployed.
All car parks will also remain open.
