Telford & Wrekin Music Education Hub shortlisted for award
Telford & Wrekin Music Education Hub has been shortlisted for a prestigious award for the high quality music provision in the borough from the Music Education Council (MEC).

The Music Education Awards 2015 celebrate the work of music education hubs and music services across the UK, highlighting the work of those that demonstrate imaginative, inclusive and all round high quality music provision.
Telford & Wrekin Music Education Hub has been shortlisted in the Music Education National Major Award for Music Education Hubs.
The winner of the award will be announced at the end of February as part of the 2016 Music Education Expo.
Drawing attention to such best practice through awards such as this enables colleagues to learn from each other and share their exemplary practice more widely.
These awards also offer the opportunity to promote to a wider audience the value and importance of everybody’s work, helping to secure the future of high quality music education for all.
Councillor Liz Clare, cabinet members for Leisure Services and Culture, said: “This is absolutely fantastic news for everyone who works so hard to make the Music Education Hub here in Telford and Wrekin so successful. Being shortlisted for the award shows how incredible our music offer is and it’s excellent that this is being recognised nationally.
“Even being shortlisted shows that we are providing some of the best quality music services in the country and I for one am proud of each and everyone involved at Telford & Wrekin Music Education Hub.
“I wish the team the best of luck for the announcement in February.”
Richard Hallam MBE, Chair of the MEC, added: “Celebrating best practice is a central part of MEC’s strategy for high quality music education for all. So many people across the UK give so much to making sure that high quality music education is delivered and it is important that the best practice is highlighted and celebrated.
“Congratulations to those shortlisted for the major award and the special awards, and to the winners of the awards for new music and creative technology. I look forward to presenting the major award winner in February.”
