Recruiting now! Foster carers wanted!
Telford & Wrekin Council will host a foster carer recruitment drop-in event this Friday (27 NOV) for anyone interested in becoming a foster carer.

The Council is very successful in placing lookedafter children with foster carers in the borough and with foster carersapproved by us.
Placing looked after children with local authorityfoster carers helps the Council to save money as placements outside of theborough or with private agencies can be much more costly.
In order to keep placing looked after children withthese foster carers, the Council is always looking for more foster carers.
Trained foster carers offer the expertise to placechildren when needed, either at short notice or in a planned way.
Foster carers are needed who can take children ofall ages, disabled children, groups of two or three children from the samefamily, as well as those who have had experience of looking after children withchallenging behavior.
Councillor Paul Watling, cabinet member forchildren, young people and families, said: “Our foster carers offer locallooked after children safe placements where they can receive the support andhelp they need.
“We are always keen to recruit new foster carers sothat we can save money by not placing children with agencies or outside of theborough.
“Many people want to foster local children but don’tthink they have the skills to foster, don’t rule yourself out from enquiring –come along to the recruitment event or get in touch with the team for moreinformation and to find out if you’re suitable.”
