The event, last Friday (26 SEPT) was a part of Macmillan Cancer Support's biggest charity fundraising event: The World's Biggest Coffee Morning.

This is the third year running that the council and foster carers have come together to host a coffee morning for Macmillan Cancer Support.

The coffee morning took place at the Ramada Telford Ironbridge hotel and gave carers and council staff the chance to network and swap experiences.

Tea and coffee was provided free of charge by the Ramada hotel while the cakes were provided by the foster cares.

Many of the foster carers brought the young children they are fostering with them.

Councillor Paul Watling, cabinet member for children, young people and families, said: “It was lovely to meet many of our foster carers and to see so many them and the young children they foster enjoying the cakes while supporting a very good cause that is close to everyone’s heart.

“I would like to thank the hotel for their generosity in allowing us to use their excellent venue and supplying us with free tea and coffee for another year and I look forward to doing it all again next year.”
