Pride In Your Community Set to Upgrade Brockton Roundabout
Telford & Wrekin Council will be making improvements to Brockton Roundabout and roads approaching it over the next month as part of the two year Pride in Your Community programme.
The project will involve major resurfacing, repainting white lines and upgrading street lighting and footpaths in the immediate area around Brockton Roundabout. The work is due to start on Monday 20 October 2014 and is expected to take approximately four weeks to complete.
Diversion routes will be in place while the work is being carried out, and access to all properties in the area will be maintained to minimise disruption to local businesses and residents.
Pride In Your Community is a £13.6m package of environmental and infrastructure improvements aiming to significantly improve residential and employment areas including district and borough towns.
Councillor Shaun Davies, cabinet member for Neighbourhood Services, Employment and Skills, said: “The improvements we are making through the Pride In Your Community programme support the Council’s business and housing growth agenda and are addressing issues that are important to local people.
“It’s great to see work being carried out across the borough as part of the programme. The upgrades to Brockton Roundabout will be a significant improvement to the area for drivers, pedestrians and other road users.
“We will try to cause as little disruption as possible during the works and appreciate everyone’s co-operation and patience during this time.”
