Volunteers needed for Home Library Service
Telford & Wrekin Council is looking for volunteers to deliver books to people who are unable to visit their local library due to age or disability.
The Home Library Service is looking for people who are patient, reliable and interested in people and books. Access to a car is useful.
Deliveries usually last two to three hours and take place every three weeks. The Council’s library service provides full training.
Councillor Hilda Rhodes, Telford & Wrekin Council’s cabinet member for libraries, said: “We currently have customers waiting for new volunteers in Newport, Wellington, Stirchley, Trench and Madeley and I would urge anyone who fancies helping out the service to come forward.
“Volunteering is rewarding and enjoyable and provides an opportunity to give something back to the library service.”
