Russian Spectacular at Oakengates Theatre
Oakengates Theatre @ The Place is set to host an international music and dance extravaganza on Thursday 27 November when the White Russian Central Band brings its Russian Spectacular to Telford.
As one of the finest military orchestras in the world, the musical ensemble from Belarus successfully combines the sound of Russian folk traditions with modern international favourites. Its extensive repertoire includes the works of Belarussian composers, a variety of popular big band and jazz pieces, and well-known classical pieces from composers such as Bach, Vivaldi, Tchaikovsky and Shostakovich.
The White Russian Central Band, formerly the Red Army Band, will be joined by special guest soloists from the world famous Bolshoi and dancers from The Belarussian National Folk Dance Academy. Culminating in a spectacular grand finale featuring ‘The Last Night of the Russian Proms’, the event promises to be a magical experience for both young and old.
