Come along to our first Carols in Southwater event today! The day runs from 11am-8pm, with carols hosted by BBC Radio Shropshire from 6-7pm.
The day will begin with markets being held outside Wilkinson’s from 11am offering treats and culinary delights these will run until 8pm.
From 2pm a number of local schools and adult community choirs will take to the stage located outside Southwater One who will be performing well known songs to get us into the festive spirit.
As well as this, there will be a number of family based activities taking place within Southwater One, which include the making of oriental water lanterns, which will be floated on the lake later in the evening creating a magical colourful spectacle.
There will also be face painting and a winter themed colouring competition with a chance to win some book vouchers.
At 6pm we will be joined by BBC Radio Shropshire presenters Eric Smith, Claire Ashford and Jackfield Brass Band for an hour long carol sing-along, this will be broadcast on air and online. Expect snow and all things Christmassy.
