Traders give away festive hamper
Market traders in Dawley have been getting into the festive spirit – by holding a free prize draw to say thank you to customers who have supported them throughout the year.
Regular customer David Hodson was the lucky winner drawn out today and picked up a hamper full of goodies including a fresh turkey, fruit and vegetables, a holly wreath and a wild bird feeder.
Mr Hodson received the hamper from Telford & Wrekin Council’s market support officers Esther McDermott and Diane McClelland.
Councillor Charles Smith, cabinet lead for markets, said: "It is great to see Dawley Market thriving and this is a fantastic gesture by the traders to recognise the support that they have had from the public.
Telford & Wrekin Council provides support to markets across the borough and can offer advice to anyone thinking of setting up a stall. The Market Support Team are on 01952 380934.
