Children's Centre move backed by Dawley residents
Residents in Dawley have welcomed a more high profile children and family centre presence in the centre of the town during a recent consultation.
Local people were asked their views on plans to relocate Dawley Children’s Centre from its current location in Webb Crescent to Dawley Town Hall in the centre of the town.
The consultation included an interactive children’s event involving local families, town councillors, Children’s Centre staff, health visitors and other interested parties.
Councillor Paul Watling, Telford & Wrekin Council’s cabinet member for Children, Young People and Families, said: "The feedback we received during the consultation was incredibly positive with a large proportion of those who gave us feedback welcoming the idea of a more high profile Children and Family Centre presence in the centre of Dawley.
"As a result of this successful consultation, all children and family groups previously running at the Webb Crescent site will now relocate to the Town Hall.
"This is a great outcome for the town of Dawley because it puts the town’s children’s centre at the heart of the community and is exactly the kind of use we originally envisaged for Dawley Town Hall when it was brought back into commission."
