Volunteers need to Spring Clean Telford Town Park

Telford & Wrekin Council is hosting a Spring Clean in Telford Town Park on the first day of spring, Saturday 21 March.

Volunteers need to Spring Clean Telford Town Park

Community Clear Up Day is a ‘national spring clean’, backed by the Government and Keep Britain Tidy, that aims to spruce up the country's high streets, residential and business areas, villages and parks.

The Council is inviting volunteers to come and help clean up the park to prepare for our big family event, Spring into the Park, which takes place the following weekend on Saturday 28 March.

Volunteers will be provided with all the necessary equipment, as well as refreshments and a slice of cake.

Volunteers will also be given a packet of seeds to plant in their own garden in time for the summer.

Spring into the Park will make its debut on Saturday 28 March and will be a seasonal celebration of the great outdoors, as well as the completion of works to the park.

With an Easter theme, the event will be a spring extravaganza with activities happening across the park.

Councillor Liz Clare, cabinet member for leisure services and culture, said: “The Spring Clean is a great opportunity for local people to come and help make the Town Park ready for our big family event at the end of the month.

“Spring into the Park will offer a brilliant free day out for all the family, with a whole range of activities.

“Telford Town Park is a huge asset for the borough and events like this showcase the different attractions we have in the park.”

The Spring Clean will take place in Telford Town Park on 21 March 2015, between 10.30am–12.30pm.

Volunteers can sign up for the event or just turn up on the day. Find more information or sign up here: http://www.volunteertelford.co.uk/
