Pride In Your Community photo competition launched
Telford and Wrekin residents are being encouraged to capture moments of spring on camera – with the chance of winning a range of prizes.
The Pride In Your Community photo competition is for all residents to enter by email to pridephotos@telford.gov.uk or via the Everyday Telford app.
Typically photos can be of flowers blooming, trees coming back to life, the different colours of spring, structures around the borough – anything that gives people pride in their town.
The deadline for entries is May 1 and prizes are as follows:
Junior category: 1st: Museum Family Passport
2nd: Family ice skating
3rd: Inflatable session
16 and over category: 1st: 2 adult tickets to see The Demon Barbers at Oakengates Theatre @ The Place and three months Aspirations membership.
2nd: 2 adult tickets to see The Demon Barbers and a swim pass
3rd: An aerobics pass and an Energize session
Councillor Shaun Davies, Telford & Wrekin Council’s cabinet lead for Pride In Your Community, said: "We want people to have pride in their borough and help us promote some of the beautiful sights we have.
"Pride In Your Community has been a big success with lots of positive outcomes as a result of the £13.8m funding we have committed to enhance our existing maintenance programme."

Some results from Pride In Your Community since its launch in April 2014 are:
- Additional environmental cleansing work borough wide
- 1,867 residents now using the Everyday Telford app
- Avoidance of potential fly tips with a total of 2,179 residents taking advantage of Bulk collection discounts
- 300 new litter bins purchased and currently being installed
- 94 per cent resident satisfaction with recycling collection services
