Minor finishing works, including final landscaping, traffic signs and completion of the street lighting will be completed over the next month.

Three sides of the Box Road are due to open two way next Friday (3 APR) in time for the Easter weekend. These are Woodhouse Central, Lawn Central and Grange Central.

This follows a successful trial when Woodhouse Central and Lawn Central were turned two way for seven weeks to help with traffic flows over the Christmas period.

Telford & Wrekin Council began works to turn the Box Road two way 18 months ago to make the town centre a safer place for pedestrians and cyclists, improve traffic flows and improve access to major new developments such as the new Southwater complex.

Following the Easter weekend and depending on the weather, the final decorative finish will be applied to the central reserve on Lawn Central and Grange Central.

Lawn Central will be first to have this work done and will operate one way, east bound (towards Hollinswood, away from Odeon) during the work. Work on Grange Central will follow the completion of work to Lawn Central and Grange Central will operate one way, south bound (towards the Southwater multi storey car park, away from Hollinswood) when the central reserve works are carried out.

Coach Central will be the last of the sides of the Box Road to turn two way, improvement works are continuing and a date for completion will be confirmed shortly.
