Tickets to see comedian Sarah Millican at Oakengates Theatre sold out in a record six minutes this morning.

Earlier this week people were urged to buy their tickets online following the rush of online ticket sales for other popular comedians such as Alan Carr, which left some people queuing for tickets disappointed.

75 percent of tickets were purchased online this morning between 9am and 9.06am - which is the fastest show sell-out for Oakengates yet.

Of the remaining 17 percent were bought over the phone and 8 percent over the counter at The Place.

“The theatre’s online ticketing system also proved a worthwhile investment following the high demand of online buyers allowing customers an easy and stress-free booking experience.” Said theatre manager Debbie King.

Sarah Millican, the north east's most popular comedian and writer, will be coming to Telford for one night only on Friday 30 October.
